client: The New York Times
Work: Read Like the Wind
art direction: Matt Dorfman
date: 2024 - 2025
I’ve had the opportunity to illustrate “Read Like the Wind”, a feature published in the books section of the Sunday edition of the @nytimes
.
The challenge has been to create illustrations based on how contributing writers describe their experiences of discovering books. My illustrations and the feature are not so much about the books themselves, but more to highlight the link between books and people, spaces, moments, and sensations.
As @matt.dorfman , the art director describes, “the way books often find people is not a linear process and this feature aims to highlight how life experience and circumstances often guide books toward discovery.”![]()
